Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) Services

COVID-19 PCR swab test is the most accurate and reliable test to diagnose individuals who have been infected with COVID-19.

For travellers :

Pre-departure Services

Test must be done within 48 - 72 hours before your flight.

Travellers are responsible for checking the testing window requirements of their destination country and if the clinic can meet the required timeline.

Do allocate adequate time to take and receive test results before departure from Singapore.

For latest updates, do check the Immigration and Checkpoint Authority website.

Antigen Rapid Test / Pre-event Services

ART screens for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. It involves using a swab stick inserted into your nostrils to obtain a sample to be tested. Results will be available after 20 - 30 minutes.

Individuals who receive positive results for their ART would have to be self-isolated and go for a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test to confirm if they have COVID-19.

For events:

Pre-events Testing (PET) must be done within 24 hours of the event that you are attending, or as stipulated by your event organiser.

Both Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test and Antigen Rapid Test (ART) are available at all Northeast Medical Group clinics, as approved by the Ministry of Health (MOH).

What does it test?

IgM Antibody Serology Test

A blood test that identifies the first antibody the body makes when it fights a new infection. This is indicative of whether a person has recently contracted/recovered from COVID-19.

IgG Antibody Serology Test

A blood test that identifies the antibody that protects you against COVID-19. This is indicative of whether a person has recently been vaccinated/ recovered from COVID-19.

Who is it for?

Serology Testing is suitable for Overseas Travellers who wish to have their vaccination status tested and updated into Singapore’s National Immunization Records (NIR).

Please note to update the Singapore National Immunisation Record (NIR), the doctor will need to:

Verify your vaccination documents (translated to English and verified true copy).

Perform a IgG Antibody Serology Test to verify if you have adequate levels of the COVID-19 antibody.

Once these two conditions are met, your vaccination status will be updated in the National Immunisation Register (NIR) and reflected in your Healthhub profile.
